我们是一所校内学校, digital broad投ing classroom that provides hands-on learning for students while aiding in the visual storytelling of the impact of Rhode Island College.

Our 多媒体制作工作室 operates in collaboration with the 资讯科技服务, 传播系, and 电影研究课程 to primarily provide hands-on experience for students interested in pursuing careers in communication and film. 

The studio boasts a fully functional control room, green screen and a physical set. Students can gain access to the studio by taking specific courses, or with the permission of the Communications department. 

Faculty and staff are able to utilize the studio with approval from 资讯科技服务 for academic purposes when not in use for scheduled classes as time and staffing resources permit.

COMM 201新闻写作:

The fundamentals of composition using the AP style guide are introduced. 主题包括新闻价值, 基本报告, public relations formats and techniques for achieving high-quality news and public relations writing. (原com302).)

COMM 220/MUS 220数字音频制作I

This course is designed for students interested in live and studio audio production in a computer-based studio. (其它)

This course serves as a project-based extension of Digital Audio Production I, including continued exploration of sound recording and transmission, 作曲与编曲, 编辑, 混音和母版. (其它)

COMM 243数字媒体前期制作

Students are introduced to the concepts and techniques used during the digital media preproduction process. Students also learn how to write for a variety of digital media distribution channels.

COMM 244数字媒体实验室

Students learn to create and analyze digital media in multiple forms, 包括静态图像工作, 动态图形组成, 音视频制作, 还有网页设计.

COMM 246电视制作

The theoretical and practical aspects of television production, 脚本的准备, and studio and control room operations and practice are presented. 包括每周两小时的实验室.

Production-based course in which students report live, 实时, news situations to create digital news packages usable across multiple digital platforms: audio, 视频和社交媒体.

This course covers the foundations of audio production for multimedia contexts including radio/pod投ing, 视频/电影/电影, TV, 互动多媒体.

广播新闻学

The preparation, writing, production, and 编辑 of broad投 news are discussed. 重点是本地和特别的新闻esball官方网. An analysis of broad投 policies and principles of news management are presented.

Students advance their knowledge of digital media production, 包括视频, 数字图形和音频, 重点是非虚构类视频项目. Course prepares them for their senior year capstone work.

Students will learn the skills necessary to succeed as sports reporters and will be required to read, watch and listen to sports reporting from a variety of sources.

COMM 492数字媒体实习 

Students collaborate in teams to produce digital media content types across multiple media platforms, 格式和交付系统. Group and individual projects are evaluated via the student’s capstone portfolio.

FILM 218电影制作方法

Students explore basic film production techniques via 拍摄ing and 编辑 exercises based upon the grammar and aesthetics of film. Production projects provide experience with a workflow approach.

Basic techniques for lighting, 拍摄ing, audio capture, and 编辑 digital film are presented. Emphasis is on developing a working understanding of the grammar of film and digital film 编辑 practices.

Building on an understanding of the documentary film form, students research and write a documentary film proposal. Upon approval, students produce a documentary short film.
