Common Questions Answered

Students are considered first-year if they have 0–24 credits coming into Rhode Island College.

是的, all first-year students are required to attend orientation.

When you are on the orientation registration page in MyRIC, click on the magnifying glass icon to view all available orientation sessions. Please refer to our step-by-step instructions on how to register. 

Once you register for an orientation session, an 电子邮件 confirmation will be sent to your personal 电子邮件 address you put on your application to Rhode Island College. If you did not receive an 电子邮件 confirmation, please contact the Office of New Student Programs at 401-456-8083 或电子邮件: orientation@carerslink.net

To change the personal 电子邮件 address on file please login to MyRIC, go to Personal Contact Info, 然后是电子邮件地址. There you will be able to change your Home 电子邮件 address. 

During Orientation Registration you will be asked to include information for up to 2 guests. The family orientation program will take 的地方 during Day 1 of your selected orientation program from 9 am–5 pm. 

No payment is required at this time. The one time New Student Fee, that covers all your costs for orientation and programs in your first year, will be included in your first bill.  

是的, during Orientation new students will get to meet with faculty or professional advisors who will assist them in building a schedule. Students will then be able to finalize and enroll in these courses.

To begin using your RIC account (or to regain access to RIC 电子邮件, 黑板上, 和MyRIC), you will need to set an initial password. Set a new password by visiting 设置密码.

Please Note: To further enhance security for students, the system will require strong passwords (i.e., passwords containing 10-14 characters, no names or repeating characters and at least one of each of the following: upper case, 小写, 数量, and a special character).
